The Bamboo Hut is an on-line journal featuring  English language tanshi (short poem) which will be published on an ongoing basis. Please refer to the "Submissions" page for details of how to submit your poems.

Tanshi means short poems. As used in this publication the word refers to poems that are between one and six lines in length.


Tanshi encompasses traditional, contemporary and experimental haiku, senryu, sedoka, dodoitsu, ryuka, monostitch, ju roku and any other variation that blurs across these lines.
